Snowy Weather!

This week has been a blur of cold weather, snow, and countless hours of just sitting around. These last few days there really hasn't been enough snow to get out and play in. Not to mention I really dislike the whole getting wet and cold feeling. I have been complaining NON stop. But, this morning when I woke up to see lots of powdery, soft, beautiful snow I decided to make it worth the trouble of getting dirty!!

From the very beginning of the day Colin knew that we were going outside and has been SO excited! I bundled him up in his snow suit and funny boots. It is amazing to see a child touch something so simple as snow for the first time. He walked all funny and really didn't know what to think! Made me feel bad that I hadn't taken him out in it sooner!! Made me think of all the time I spent complaining when instead I could have been teaching Colin how to make the best of of a crude situation. We played, ran around, sleighed down our driveway, and most of all he just looked around! Sheer amazement in his eyes that the world as he knows it was covered in snow! We went with a few friends to the neighborhood hill to partake in the festivities! What a great time!!
It is easy to be upset about the bad weather when you have Christmas shopping to finish, parties to plan, and groceries to buy. But, when I slowed down for just one day.....I was able to remember how much I loved snow, being outside, laughing at being silly, and I got to share this wonderful snowy day with Colin!! Perfection!! I could not ask for more!!

Love the picture of the two of you sledding!! I hope we get at least a little here sometime this winter so Baby Girl can have a chance to go out in it. She probably doesn't even remember it!

I'm with Alexis...where's that baby's gloves?!:)

Well, to both of you.....I have looked for gloves and haven't had any luck for his size! Alexis, before we go big time I will have him ready!! At least he doesn't just have on a diaper, right?
